Job Purpose

The Cybersecurity Advocate promotes cybersecurity awareness and best practices to our client base. This role involves developing and delivering training programs, conducting security assessments, and advocating for robust cybersecurity measures. The Cybersecurity Ad locate plays a crucial role in enhancing the company's security posture within our client base and fostering a culture of security awareness.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Educating and Training : Develop and deliver cybersecurity training programs to enhance security and privacy awareness and best practices among clients.
  • Security Assessments : Conduct security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
  • Advocacy and Representation : Advocate for robust cybersecurity measures and represent the organization at trade shows, conferences, and public agencies.
  • Incident Response : Assist in incident response planning and execution to mitigate security breaches.
  • Policy Development : Develop and update cybersecurity policies to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Stakeholder Engagement : Engage with stakeholders to promote cybersecurity awareness and foster a culture of security.
  • Reporting and Analysis : Prepare and present cybersecurity reports, staying current with trends and technologies.
  • Tool Proficiency : Understand and communicate the differences between various cybersecurity tools.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Effective cybersecurity advocates have a combination of technical and non-technical skills, including :
  • Technical skills : Understanding how to safeguard systems

  • Non-technical skills : Having interpersonal skills, communication skills, and customer service orientation
  • Context awareness : Being able to understand the situation
  • Bachelor's degree in communications or business administration preferred
  • Proven experience in a cybersecurity role, with a focus on advocacy and training
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to develop and deliver effective training programs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Working Conditions

  • Primarily works in a standard office setting with moderate noise levels and controlled climate conditions.
  • May require working from home or remote locations, necessitating a reliable internet connection and a suitable workspace.
  • Frequent travel to client locations, which may include varying office environments and conditions.
  • May require working outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate client schedules and urgent cybersecurity issues.
  • Must be able to handle high-pressure scenarios, such as responding to security incidents and breaches, with composure and professionalism.
  • Physical Requirements

  • The role involves extended periods of sitting while working on a computer, attending meetings, and delivering training sessions.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
  • Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer) and to adjust focus for reading and analyzing data on screens and printed materials.
  • Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and in virtual meetings.
  • Ability to move around the office and at client sites, including walking, standing, and occasionally lifting and carrying items up to 25 pounds.
