Cooperative Description: Woodbelly Pizza is a worker-owned, farm-to-table catering cooperative and restaurant that started as an outlet for CSA produce from a small farm in Northern VT. Now based in Montpelier, we specialize in providing experiential dining services for weddings, parties and events in the state of Vermont. We also sling our pizza at vending events and festivals throughout the season as well as local farmers markets and festivals. We take pride in our ingredients, sourcing freshly milled heirloom organic wheat from VT and Quebec, as well as organic vegetables and meats from partner farms in Central and Northern VT.
Restaurant Front of House Overview: Pizza makers are responsible for hand stretching our sourdough pizza, assembling it with delicious ingredients, both following signature recipes and developing chef choice pizza offerings. We fire our pizza in a woodfired oven, so the ability to multi-task and work quickly with a sense of urgency is essential. Time management, cleanliness, clear communication, self direction, taking and giving feedback and commitment to culinary excellence are key to this role.
Requirements:
- 1 year minimum experience working with dough, will train the right candidate
- 1 year minimum food service experience or adjacent field
- Curiosity, creativity and innovation with flavor and texture
- Strong work ethic, sense of urgency and self direction are essential
- Attention to detail
- Ability to follow opening, closing, side work and deep clean procedures
- Attention to food safety measures
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Interest and passion for worker owned cooperatives
