Woodberry Forest School, located in Madison, VA, is an exceptional private boarding school community for high school boys in grades nine through twelve. It is one of the top boarding schools in the United States and one of the only all-boys, all-boarding schools in the country. Woodberry's 1,200-acre campus is the largest for boarding schools in Virginia, and one of the largest private school campuses in the country.
Major Purpose
Responsible for the day to day maintenance of WFS's electrical systems.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Installs, maintains, and repairs wiring, electrical systems, and apparatus.
- Threads conduit, splices wire, and connects wiring to fixtures and equipment.
- Tests equipment and circuits to verify safety and locate sources of trouble.
- Repairs and replaces faulty equipment and systems.
- Corresponds with faculty to schedule appointments for electrical work.
- Orders materials and supplies as needed, travel to supply warehouse and stores to pick up the supplies.
- Other duties as required.
Working Conditions
Moderate physical activity. Requires extensive movement. Work environment involves exposure to temperature extremes and electricity. May be called in for work after hours.
Experience, Knowledge, and Skill Requirements
Education and Training Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Certification from a vocational school (preferred)
