Gatherings by Woodberry Kitchen provides high-touch production and catering for weddings, parties, corporate events, and any other special occasion inside Woodberry Kitchen’s spectacular, historic space in Clipper Mill. At our events, guests experience world-class hospitality and award-winning cuisine. Our menu showcases the region’s freshest seasonal produce, fish and shellfish from the Chesapeake Bay, and the highest quality meats from regenerative farms.
We're gearing up for a busy spring wedding season and are looking for talented bartenders to join our exceptional team. Event bartenders will provide guests with the quality service while contributing to a team culture built on respect and professionalism. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the best ingredients grown in the Mid-Atlantic. This role is Part-time for Friday evenings and Saturday evenings.
Responsibilities:
- Be an ambassador of our approach to food and hospitality; give warmth and energy in service, develop deep menu knowledge, and prepare incredible drinks for guests
- Prepare spaces for events, including bars according to BEO and bar prep specs
- Prepare all garnishes, syrups, ice, and glassware. Stock all beverage ingredients as needed for successful event execution
- Have all bar mise en place ready 15 minutes before event start time
- Pour beer and wine and make cocktails throughout the event, serving guests with warmth and accommodating requests as possible
- Break down and clean up after events
- Adhere to all policies as provided by HR regarding staff disciplinary action, onboarding, anti-discrimination, harassment, ethical behavior, and any other policy defined in the Handbook or otherwise
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with the team and guests
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a banquet or restaurant bartender required
- Ability to effectively carry dishes and cocktail trays
- Friendly, professional demeanor with guests
- Ability to take direction and to work and collaborate as a team member
- Ability to be on your feet for significant stretches of time and to lift approximately 50 lb
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Enthusiasm for delicious, locally-sourced food is a plus!
