Job Description
Position: Program Manager
Overall Objectives
- Coordination and Marketing of the local Main Street (WMS) program
- Implement programming, create, and guide transformational strategies, and community - economic development for downtown, the business community, and the wider community within a team approach.
- Fully utilize the Main Street Approach and all available resources and networks, including Main Street Iowa and Main Street America.
Organization Flow - A dynamic and rewarding position with a broad range of responsibilities and opportunities for growth. The position reports to the Economic Development Main Street Executive Director. WMS is a nonprofit entity and governed by a Board of Directors.
Qualifications/Experience
A strong background in Marketing or Administration, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and Microsoft Office proficiency required. Self-directed, organized, and capable of functioning in an independent environment. Website maintenance, graphic design experience desirable.
Related experience and/or an undergraduate degree in one or more:
- Marketing, Business, Graphic Design
- Project Management, Event Management
- The Main Street Approach to Downtown Revitalization, Historic Preservation & Building Design & Redevelopment
- Economic Development, Grants Management, Grant Writing
Essential Functions
- Develop and implement a Marketing Plan for strategic programming
- Operate at both the “strategy” level and the “execution” level with ease
- Love the challenges and rewards of working with a community and volunteers
- Coordinate committee activities, manage grant opportunities
- Build relationships and partnerships with stakeholders
- Office administration and budget development
- Build productive partnerships with public and private entities
- Assist in coordination of promotions and events
Compensation and Hours:
The position may be three-quarters to full-time, with flexible office hours, dependent on candidate. Minimal travel. Some weekend events and evening meetings are required. The office is in downtown Woodbine, Iowa. Compensation range - $20 to $25 to start - commensurate with experience and qualifications. Travel and Cell Phone reimbursements. PTO start in Year One-12 days. Traditional Holidays observed and paid.
Retirement benefit available: IPERS - Iowa Public Employees Retirement System is a defined benefit plan. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
