Bus Attendant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Bus Attendant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students during their transportation to and from school. This position requires effective communication skills, a strong understanding of behavior management, and the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and school staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students while boarding and disembarking the bus to ensure their safety.
• Manage student behavior effectively, promoting a positive environment during transit.
• Assist students with special needs, providing support as necessary.
• Educate students on bus safety rules and proper conduct while riding.
• Communicate with parents and school staff regarding any issues or concerns related to student behavior or safety.
• Maintain a clean and orderly environment on the bus.
• Respond promptly to any conflicts or emergencies that may arise during transportation.
• Administer first aid when necessary and ensure that all health protocols are followed.

Skills

• Strong behavior management skills to handle various student behaviors effectively.
• Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings.
• Knowledge of special education practices is a plus.
• Ability to educate students on safety protocols and appropriate conduct.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and staff.
• Experience in conflict management to resolve issues calmly and effectively.
• First aid certification is preferred but not required; willingness to obtain certification is essential.
