Job Description
Under the direction of the Program Manager of Open House Center, the Activity Coordinator I will be responsible for the coordination of activities and direct care services of our clients who have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate does not need caregiver experience but should have strong interpersonal skills, be coachable, possess good verbal and written communication and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
We are open to both early career and experienced candidates. This is a full-time position with a three month probationary period before conversion from temporary full-time to permanent full-time.

Job Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and assistance to our clients during hours of operation
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as eating, creating art, performing exercises, developing vocational skills and community outings
- Provide behavioral and emotional supervision to support our clients such as reality orientation or reminders to follow through on medical care and diet restrictions
- Report changes in client’s condition and act as a mandated reporter when suspicious of potential abuse
- Perform basic data entry at the end of each shift to maintain a record of documentation of our clients
- Participate in training and orientation programs
- Participate and encourage actions that promote good public relations with family, friends, visitors and the greater community
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in English is required to communicate clearly with a diverse team, including non-native English speakers
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Access to reliable transportation
- Sincere interest and commitment in working with adults with disabilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6 months of experience providing direct supervision and/or care of adults with developmental disabilities
- Competent in using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Google Workspace
- Strong ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary team members with initiative, creativity and resourcefulness
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
