Golf Pro Shop Attendant
You enjoy retail, a picturesque setting and the game of golf. You are organized and helpful, friendly and efficient and enjoy working with guests to book tee times and golf cart reservations while being a pro at selling the merchandise available in your pro shop. In your role you are comfortable working with a point of service system, handling cash and credit, as well as upselling the shop’s goods to meet and exceed revenue goals, ensuring a seamless operation between the golf course members and guests as well as the Hotel/Resort. In the role of Pro Shop Attendant you will:
- Be of Service – helping guests whether in person or via the phone/internet with their golf scheduling needs is a key duty, as is answering customer questions about the course, merchandise and the surrounding area. Obviously sales of the pro shop merchandise is a key part of the job.
- Keep Things Organized – aid in receiving, pricing and presenting shop merchandise. Keep the shop clean and looking sharp by vacuuming, sweeping ramps, organizing shelves to best display merchandise, etc.
- Be a Safety & Security Agent – following your hotel’s established safety and security policies and procedures. Anticipate problems and call management as needed.
Job Requirements
Knowledge of the game of golf a well as retail experience preferred. This role works primarily indoors using the telephone, POS system, computer and cleaning equipment, although at times will have exposure to outdoor weather conditions. In this role you may work variable shifts and will need flexibility in your schedule so you can be available as needed, including weekends. This job works around chemical/fumes/odor/hazards. Verbal and written English language skills are needed to convey information as well as to effectively listen, understand and clarify information and prioritize quickly. Physical requirements include the ability to do medium work, i.e. exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and 10-20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
