 Job Title: Content Learning Lead
Reports to: Associate Director of Learning
Direct Reports: None
Status: Full Time; Non-Exempt
Hourly Range: $23.00 - $26.50
Schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday – Friday (with some variation possible). May need to be
available on weekends.

Position Information:
Learning Leads Learning Leads will research and identify promising practices to create
curriculum to support high quality program implementation. Learning Leads will work as part of
the Learning Team and work collaboratively to develop curriculum on topics such as: SEL (social-
emotional learning), positive behavior engagement, youth engagement promising practices,
culture building, relationship development, activity adaptation and more. In collaboration with
Club Leaders, Learning Leads create activities and cycle plans for staff to implement if there is a
need for specialty enrichment programs. This Learning Lead will specialize in older youth. Middle
and High School are a key focus, with programs spanning STEM, Sports & Fitness, Outdoor
Education, Visual and Performing Arts, Civic Engagement & Leadership, and Social-Emotional
Learning, and College & Career Readiness.
 
The Learning Lead position is a hybrid position, including working work in person, at school sites
and remotely.

Overall Responsibilities:
• Research best practices in youth development to inform content development
• Conduct thorough reviews and edits of all curriculum materials to ensure accuracy, clarity,
and alignment with learning objectives.
• Assist in the facilitation of training programs, including new hire orientation, in-person
trainings, workshops, and virtual training sessions.
• Prepare and maintain training materials, including handouts, presentations, and
assessments.
• Maintain and provide ongoing updates to the curriculum library and ensure
communication for cycle plans is consistent.
• Identify and coordinate potential partners that would provide curriculum for staff.
• Development of program support tools and resources as needed.
• Work with Associate Director of Learning to set targets, manage projects,
and evaluate progress and impact.
• Work with Learning Team to align best practices and guide collective
efforts.
• Develop new activities and adapt existing curriculum to meet the needs of specialty
`programs.
• Support in the facilitation of focus groups geared towards older youth.
• Help create assessment tools to monitor implementation of activities.
• Consult with specialty enrichment Club Leaders to develop new curriculum.
• Develop curriculum for assigned grade levels and subjects, adhering to state and national
standards.
• Participate in staff development training as required, approximately 40 hours / year.
• Ensure program compliance and program quality are met according to funding, partner
and WR guidelines and requirements.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
• AA Degree in Child Development or a related field is preferred or minimum of one year of
experience as a group leader working with children and six units in child development.
• WR will require proof of COVID-19 vaccination for ALL employees providing any in-person
work with staff or clients.
• Enthusiastic to work well with youth development staff and/or youth.
• Understanding of middle school/ high school student development and learning theories.
• Good oral and written communication.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to travel to the various regions that have Woodcraft Rangers programs to support
or deliver in person training. Regions would include San Fernando Valley, South Los
Angeles, West Los Angeles, San Gabriel Valley, Southeast LA, and Downtown areas.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Stable Internet Access
• Valid LIVE Scan

Ideally, we are looking for someone who is detail oriented, energetic, ambitious, initiative-taking,
and positive, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Multi-tasking and
diligence must be strengths this individual possesses. Individuals need to be comfortable to
present and speak in front of staff and peers during in-person training.
