What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Store Manager position at Woodcraft?
Summary Objective:
The Manager is responsible for the complete day-to-day operations, functions, and financial performance of the Woodcraft store. Inventory, purchasing, proper sales procedures, and employee relations are included in the administrative duties. The Manager is also accountable for the overall appearance of the store, customer service, maintenance of merchandise, and the store facility.
Essential Functions:
- Provide excellent customer relations and service by assisting customers with what they want as fast, conveniently, and efficiently as possible
- Train and develop all subordinates in all phases of store operation
- Complete inventory management, inclusive of, but not limited to: Order/receive merchandise, track inventory, handle invoices, auditing/cycle counts
- Monitor cash control, cash variations, paid-outs and daily reports. Investigate shortages/overages
- Deal with customer complaints and compliments
- Merchandise products using Woodcraft techniques, appealing displays, and signage
- Promote a quality environment for customers and employees
- Process transactions using the point-of-sale system
- Ensure safety by checking product safety guards and the demonstration/use of equipment
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Retail store including sales floor and warehouse/stock room.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be able to be standing and walking for prolonged periods, walk, sit, climb stairs, and communicate clearly. The employee must be able to lift or move objects up to 60 pounds.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
40-45 hours a week including early evenings and Saturdays

Woodworking knowledge/is helpful but not required
Retail Experience
