Job Overview:The Woodcroft Club is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Assistant Tennis Instructor to join our team. This position offers year-round opportunities to support introductory and beginner tennis lessons and clinics for both children and adults, with a primary focus on campers ages 6-13 that are new to tennis. The Assistant Tennis Instructor will play a key role in delivering engaging, skill-building lessons and creating a positive, inclusive environment. Ideal candidates should be passionate about working with children, possess good communication skills, and have a solid understanding of tennis fundamentals. A successful outcome for our youth tennis camps/clinics is first that campers had fun, and second that campers improved their tennis skills.

Assistant Tennis Coach – Key Responsibilities
Support Tennis Program Delivery: Assist in implementing age-appropriate tennis activities and games for beginner and recreational players. Support the Head Coach in aligning activities with the camp’s focus—especially for our younger campers—on having fun while learning the game.
Create a Positive & Fun Environment: Help maintain a playful, high-energy atmosphere through encouragement and games. Bring your own enthusiasm to the court and support a welcoming, inclusive space for all campers.
Instruction & Supervision: Assist with tennis instruction for approximately 25 campers per week under the guidance of the Head Coach.
Encourage Skill Growth: Support campers as they learn and develop tennis skills. Offer individual guidance when needed and celebrate progress, effort, and sportsmanship.
Promote Sportsmanship & Team Spirit: Help reinforce teamwork, respect, and positive behavior on and off the court.
Equipment Support: Assist in setting up and putting away equipment and help maintain a clean, safe tennis space.
Qualifications:
- Enjoys working with children in an energetic, positive, and engaging way
- Previous experience assisting with camps, clinics, or recreational programs
- Basic knowledge of tennis and/or general sports
- Comfortable supporting lead instructors and helping manage group activities as well as take the lead with the head coach is not present
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable and punctual
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus, but not required
Working Conditions:
- This position involves outdoor work and may require flexibility to adapt to changing weather conditions.
- Primary camp hours are from 8:15 AM to 1:15 PM, with opportunities for additional hours through clinics, private lessons, and afternoon programming.
- Pay rate: $19 - $22 per hour, based on experience.
