What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host/Hostess position at Wooden Heart?
Wooden Heart in Dundee, OR is looking for a rockstar host/hostess to join our FOH team. We are located in the heart of Oregon Wine Country and attached to the boutique Dundee Hotel. We are looking for an experienced host/hostess that understands that being the first point of contact in a restaurant is of the utmost importance and crucial to the flow of the entire restaurant!
*Wage based on experience*
*We have part-time positions available *
Responsibilities:
- Answering the phones and booking reservations
- Proficiency in using reservation software/applications system (will train on site)
- Greeting guests and making them feel welcome and acknowledged
- Estimating wait time for guests
- Awareness of server sections and seating capacity and ability to gauge flow of seating new guests
- Willingness to aid FOH team members with bussing and water service etc.
Qualifications:
- Friendly and outgoing personality
- No problem interacting with strangers
- Ability to listen and communicate effectively
- Strong organizational and motivational skills
- Strong sense of self and confidence in conflict resolution
- Ability to stay calm under pressure while maintaining professionalism and courtesy when dealing with guests
- Sense of humor/ love to smile
- Respectful
- 1 year minimum of host/hostess experience in a restaurant setting
