We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cabinet Shop helper to join our team at Wooden Woodworks LLC. As a Cabinet Shop helper, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing high-quality custom cabinets and fixtures for our valued clients.
Responsibilities:
1. Cabinet Fabrication: Use woodworking machinery, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments to fabricate and shape wooden cabinet components according to specifications.
2. Assembly and Finishing: Assemble cabinets, drawers, doors, and hardware, ensuring precise fit and alignment. Apply finishes, such as stains or paints, to achieve a desired appearance.
3. Installation: Install cabinets and fixtures on-site, ensuring proper alignment, fit, and functionality. Collaborate with clients, contractors, and team members to ensure customer satisfaction.
4. Material Selection: Assess and select appropriate materials, such as hardwoods, laminates, and veneers, to meet customer design preferences and project requirements.
5. Quality Control: Conduct thorough inspections to ensure all cabinets meet quality standards, including checking for proper dimensions, smooth finishes, and functional mechanisms.
6. Maintenance and Repair: Identify and address any issues or defects in cabinets during fabrication, assembly, or installation, making necessary repairs or adjustments.
7. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines, including the proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment, to ensure a safe and accident-free work environment.
8. Documentation and Communication: Maintain accurate records of materials used, time spent on projects, and any other relevant documentation. Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and supervisors regarding project progress, changes, and any concerns.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience working in a cabinet shop or similar woodworking environment.
2. Proficiency in using woodworking tools and machinery, including saws, routers, drills, sanders, and pneumatic tools.
3. Strong understanding of cabinet construction techniques, woodworking principles, and finishes.
4. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
5. Excellent attention to detail, ensuring precise measurements, fit, and finishes.
6. Physical stamina and strength to lift and maneuver heavy materials and cabinets.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently.
8. Effective time management and organizational skills to meet project deadlines.
9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with team members, clients, and contractors.
