- Monday to Thursday 7am to 5:30pm
General Position Summary:
Woodfold has a vacancy for a Production Operator / Assembly worker in our Hardwood Roll Up Door Department. The incumbent would be placed on a 60-90 day probation period. The wage will be reviewed after successfully completing the probation period.
The Operator is responsible for the completion of assigned tasks within a scheduled timeframe. Tasks are typically part of a larger process and work follows established practices. Employees make decisions within the established guidelines and seek assistance for tasks that are out of the ordinary.
This job receives general supervision and is able to get supervisory assistance as needed and has no supervisory responsibilities.
Tasks include:
- Computer operation including using an online steel spring program and order entry.
- Reading and executing production documents.
- Processing wood components - slats, bottom bar, guide rails, hoods.
- Processing metal components - tubing, collars, springs, plates, welding etc.
- Installing basic electronic components - motors and switches.
- Assembly and testing
- Crating and shipping
- Provide telephonic technical support to customers
- Liaise with the office to order and manage inventory.
- Counting inventory monthly.
This position is within a factory environment and requires standing and the use of hand and power tools.
Education and/or Experience:
No experience is required but literacy in English, the ability to use a computer, work with tools and equipment, and complete manual labor tasks, is a prerequisite.
Tools and equipment:
Chop saw, table saw, drill presses, routers, pneumatic tools, torch, welder, Hyster driving.
