What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paralegal position at Woodford Sathappan McGee?
We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to become a part of our Michigan team! This will be a hybrid role.
WSM Law is a pioneering multi-state, divorce and custody litigation firm who represents women exclusively. Our mission is to empower women through legal support and representation, ensuring their voices are heard and rights protected. You will provide overall support run the office and the attorneys' case needs.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Managing attorney with case management, including drafting pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence
- Handle incoming potential client inquiries
- Coordinate with clients to gather necessary documentation and keep them updated on case progress
- Manage discovery, including document requests, subpoenas, and preparation of exhibits
- Plan, schedule, and confirm appointments, court dates, and events for attorneys
- Greet and assist onsite guests
- Facilitate communication between attorneys, clients, courts, and opposing counsel
- Perform all other office tasks
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience as a Paralegal
- With at least 3 years in Family Law
- Strong understanding of family law procedures and court requirements in Michigan
- County: Wayne, Oakland, Macomb
- Attentive to detail, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of work.
- Excellent organizational skills and calendaring
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a legal office setting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
