Compensation: $75k-$80K

The Driver Supervisor will oversee and control the day-to-day functions of the Woodgrain private fleet operation and serve as the main contact for the private fleet drivers. This position will distribute route dispatch information and work extensively with the fleet drivers, sales staff and Transportation Planners in order to operate an efficient fleet as well as maintain customer service levels. In addition to day-to-day activities, the Driver Supervisor will provide support to the Transportation Operations Manager with enforcing all transportation policies and with analytical data gathering.
This position will be required to travel 10% or less of the time to other Woodgrain facilities within the region in order to maintain strong relationships with the drivers and local vendors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Safety of the drivers and all assets
- Hold drivers accountable for following SOP
- Ensure all daily routes have drivers assigned
- Schedule back-up drivers as needed
- Manage the on-road driver issues such as breakdowns or unloading delays
- Report delays to the Sales and Planning staff
- Monitor daily DVIR reports and schedule equipment for service and repair
- Ensure driver E Logs are DOT compliant
- Track and update KPI data on fleet routes
- Manage and approve repair and service invoices
- Monitor and update the driver’s technology systems
- Conduct quarterly site visits to conduct driver meetings and compliance checks and Safety Training
- Driver hiring, retention, and termination
- Approve all drivers hour/miles for payroll
- Other task as directed by management
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of 3 years of extensive experience in Trucking Operations with a focus on:
- Managing drivers – Time management (Annual performance review, PTO, Payroll, Scheduling)
- Maintaining DOT/FMCSA driver & safety compliance
- DQ file compliance
- Assigning / Scheduling Driver routes
- Resolution of driver / route issues
