Job Summary
The Operations Coach is a leadership position that is found in each Operations area of the Millwork building: e.g., Exterior, Interior, Shipping, Pre-Finish, and Receiving. The Coach is responsible for leading a team to safely achieve its productivity goals. The Coach staffs the team, making sure all positions are covered, and that the team has what it needs to be successful. The Coach is responsible for overseeing the Team Members' training and evaluates the Team Members' performance.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Professionalism and Positive attitude
- Manage labor and monitor Team Member process to ensure accuracy
- Fill-in for missing Team Leads or Team Members when needed
- Facilitate Team Members' efforts to achieve production targets
- Monitor current production rates, and post hourly on production status boards within department
- Oversee production to meet quality standards
- Re-allocate resources to other areas of facility when needed with the help of the Team Lead; request additional resources when needed
- Continually check with teams and, with other coaches to determine if additional help needed; Meet with other coaches at designated times and determine plan for remainder of day
- Assign and delegate tasks to Team Lead as needed
- Monitor use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Monitor proper use of hand tools, power tools, power equipment and palletizer equipment
- Troubleshoot any issues on production line and find root cause
- Manage labor costs and budget and develop standard metrics for each production position
- Ensure equipment functions properly; arrange repairs with maintenance
- Utilize the SAP
- Complete production paperwork
- Enter day's production statistics into computer system
- Operate powered equipment when needed
- Maintain certification as needed to operate equipment
- Coordinate cross-training for Team Members in other areas so that they can be assigned to other areas.
- Monitor team dynamics
- Diffuse potential conflicts quickly
- Re-assign team members to other positions to maintain productivity rhythm
- Coordinate set up of slabs and parts for next day's work
- Ensure proper paperwork is turned in daily for attendances and absences
- High School Diploma or GED; and 6 months to 1-year related experience or on-the-job training.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables. Chooses from workable
- Proficient computer and 10 key operation skills (at least be able to type 45 WPM)
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred.
