The Assistant Controller will assist Controllers with the review of financial and expense reports. They will be responsible for ensuring data accuracy with established accounting standards and procedures.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications
Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle recordBachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent work experienceMinimum of 2 years accounting experienceExperience reviewing and analyzing P&LEssential Duties
Assists the controllers with the management of A / R and A / P billing statementsProvides controllers with detailed financial and management reportsReviews the general ledger and scheduled accounts and notes any unusual entries and investigatesReviews the reconciliation of general ledger accounts with outside sources to ensure proper bank reconciliation, reserve accounts, factory payable and floor plan payableAssists in maintaining compliance with all applicable government finance regulations, including filing and / or maintaining of required forms, payroll taxes and deposits, income taxes, retirement records, etc.Stays abreast of current factory incentivesManages the payoff of vehicle floor plans and works with bank and franchise representativesOversees collections of past due accountsPrepares sales tax reportingEnsures office personnel are using proper accounting procedures and maintaining accurate recordsContinually strives to improve data integrity and information reporting throughout the dealershipsServes as escalation point for accounting related communications from internal or external customersRegular and reliable attendance is requiredJob Knowledge / Skills Required
Proficiency in relevant systems (DMS)Proficient in computerized accounting softwareAttention to detailCritical thinking skills - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problemsTime management skills and ability to work under tight deadlinesAbility to prepare financial statementsKnowledge of generally accepted accounting principlesEffective written and verbal communication skills
