The Toddler Intern & Assistant will work in a collaborative team setting and be given opportunities to develop the competencies needed for effective teaching and to fulfill the requirements for their credential. The assignments in any area will reflect individual strengths as well as areas for extra development. This position will also be asked to perform the assistant role in the classroom as well as provide supervision of the before and/or after school programs. The Bothell campus is conveniently located off I-405 just north of State route 522.
This full-time, academic year position starts August 19, 2025, with the hours of Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
You will:
- Possess keen awareness of the functioning of the whole while also paying attention to individual and small group needs.
- Be committed to excellent communication with students, staff, and the school leadership team.
- Exhibit a high degree of organization and attention to detail and an understanding of how to convey this to students.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of current research in human development and learning in support of the Montessori educational approach and enjoyment of children.
- Contribute positively to the school community beyond the job specific tasks, including active cross-level collaboration with a can-do attitude.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; master’s degree is preferable.
- In pursuit of a MACTE accredited Toddler Certification required.
- Two or more years of classroom experience
- Commitment to professional development and best practices in education
- Commitment to meeting the needs of each student.
- WA State Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF) for Child Care Center: Toddler Assistant Teacher Qualifications (Preferred. Will provide training for the right candidate.)
- Including but not limited to: DCYF background check, TB test, High school diploma, Childcare basics, First Aid/ CPR, Blood-borne pathogens training.
SALARY/BENEFITS:
The salary range is $22 - $24 per hour, dependent on education, training, and experience. Benefits include health, dental, vision, Long-Term Disability, life, and supplemental insurance, paid time off, 403b retirement plan, professional development allowance.
