Summary
The Software Manager oversees the daily operations of the engineering and software teams, ensuring efficient workflow, optimal resource utilization, system maintenance, and alignment with organizational goals. This role involves managing engineering and software projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, implementing process improvements, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
Stimulate creative ideas for efficiency and process improvement, and foster idea-sharing.
Develop, revise, and implement operational procedures, including safety aspects, to enhance productivity and ensure compliance with company policies.
Collaborate with leadership and other departments to define key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with the company’s objectives, focusing on production efficiency, quality, and software performance.
Audit engineering and software projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to scope, and budget compliance.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead the implementation of best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements, milestones, and deliverables.
Facilitate and maintain open lines of communication with Production Floor Managers, Plant Managers, and the Tactical Team.
Oversee the day-to-day activities of the engineering and software teams to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Manage, mentor, and develop team members, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance.
Prepare and present regular reports on performance, project status, and operational metrics to management.
Monitor and analyze performance metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Stay up-to-date with software technology and tools to enhance production operations.
Manage budgets, procurement, and inventory to ensure optimal resource utilization.
Maintain accurate documentation of processes, procedures, and project details.
Allocate resources effectively to meet project and operational needs.
Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Stay ahead of industry technology trends.
Support cross-training of team members.
Maintain good employee morale.
Requirements
ERP/MRP knowledge.
Experience with AutoCAD.
Excellent organizational abilities.
5-10 years of Cabinet experience is a must
Experience with 20/20 Insight and or Construct.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Some project management experience is a plus.
Preparedness to respond to emergencies if required.
Flexibility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Proven experience in a management or operations role.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Occasional travel to other company locations may be required.
Working under tight deadlines and strict quality control standards.
Ability to respond to unexpected problems with creative solutions.
Proficiency in using project management and engineering software.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Software, Operations Management, or a related field.
