Shipping Worker

Shipping workers are responsible for general duties involving the physical handling of products, materials, supplies, and equipment.  Maintain orderly and clean work areas in compliance with company safety and sanitation requirements. Must be able to understand and follow written or verbal instructions. Complete work with accuracy and efficiency. 

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Use software to scan product in and out of locations
• Unload/load freight from trucks; weigh and label product by hand
• Communicate with Management, Production, & Quality Assurance about any discrepancies in product inventory and/or product quality
• Maintain an organized and safe work environment
• Pick, pack or store received product properly for rotation purposes and inventory accuracy
• Prepare product for shipping (boxes or pallets) and  process packages through UPS or FedEx
• Inform Shipping and/or Production about product repacks
• Inspect equipment used on a daily basis and report as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Must have working knowledge of general warehouse operations, Shipping, and/or food industry experience a plus
• Must be flexible with hours, a possibility for OT
• Ability to lift up to 55lbs (anything over 55 lbs., team lift)
• Must follow all WLF GMP’s and work consistently with all food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

• Must have computer skills
• Ability to read and write English
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Understand the basics of scale operations, weights, and measurements
• Ability to prioritize and learn quickly
• Good verbal and written communication
• Ability to multi-task
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
