Minimum qualifications :
Education and Experience : Requires completion of two years of college-level curriculum with emphasis in bookkeeping, accounting or other financial management coursework and 3 years' experience in a production accounting environment with a least one year in governmental accounting, school district accounting preferred.
SUMMARY
Performs a variety of accounting duties with a focus on accounts payable related tasks including but not limited to processing and auditing invoices, preparation and review of 1099 and W9 tax forms and other general accounting duties as assigned.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Advancement to Accounting Technician III from Accounting Clerk or Technician requires that prospective incumbents will demonstrate an intermediate level of understanding of the guiding principles and practices involved in accounting while assuming complete responsibility for accounts payable component of the system using the following skills and abilities : the ability to rapidly perform complex arithmetic calculations; develop financial summary statements by converting journal entries to general ledger then to consolidated sum
