POSITION SUMMARY :
Under general supervision of the Director of Student Services and the professional direction of a California credentialed School Nurse, a Licensed Vocational Nurse provides Specialized Health Care Services (SPHCS) to medically fragile students and students with exceptional needs, as well as, general education students.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
Graduation and appropriate licensure from a credentialed nursing school; experienced in medication administration; and, have recent experience working either in an acute care setting or in a home or school setting with individuals with multiple disabilities and medical needs.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Knowledge and Skills : Must have the skills to communicate with individuals from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds; to support administrative, health, instructional and support staff; effective interpersonal and communication skills; and, have current medical skills, including pediatric experience
Licenses and Certificates : TB test clearance; Criminal Justice Fingerprint clearance; valid Driver's license and evidence of insurability; valid California LVN license, and valid First Aid and CPR certification

Requires sufficient arm, hand, finger dexterity in order to operate a personal computer keyboard, typewriter, and other office equipment; physical abilities include balancing, reaching and handling; ability to talk / hear conversations and other sounds with or without aids; near and far visual acuity / depth perception with or without visual accommodation; ability to sit for prolonged periods of time; ability to lift light to moderate objects on an occasional basis, heavy objects or students with assistance as needed on an infrequent basis; ability to stand for sustained period of
time; ambulatory ability to travel to different locations; and, ability to take precautions against an exposure to health and safety risks.
Comments and Other Information
The District will contribute towards health benefits on a prorated basis (based on employee's work year and hours assigned). The benefit package includes options for medical, dental and vision. Medical plan options include Kaiser, Western Health Advantage and Sutter Health Plus.
9,360 per year for Employee-only medical benefit selection.
11,400 per year for Employee 1 or Family medical benefit selection.
