Job Summary
The Emergency Department Registrar plays a crucial role in the healthcare setting by ensuring accurate and timely patient registration and documentation within the emergency department.
Responsibilities
- Register patients upon arrival to the emergency department
- Collect and verify patient demographic information and insurance details
- Coordinate with medical staff to prioritize patient care based on severity of condition
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Assist in directing patients to appropriate areas within the emergency department
- Update patient records with treatment information and outcomes
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers
Skills
- Proficiency in basic life support procedures
- Knowledge of long term care practices
- Ability to administer medications as directed
- Understanding of acute pain management techniques
- Familiarity with ophthalmology terminology and procedures
- Experience working with geriatric patients
- Knowledge of physiology to assist in patient assessment and care
- Capability to handle dialysis procedures efficiently
