As our new Senior Accountant & Financial Analyst, we know you will be successful in this role because you are:
- Skilled financial expert with analytical precision: With a strong background in budgeting, planning, and ad hoc analysis, you effectively interpret financial reports, legal documents, and technical data to provide insightful recommendations and support organizational objectives.
- Tech-savvy and detail-oriented: Your high proficiency in MS Excel, including advanced functions like data importing and formula writing, along with experience in SQL databases and accounting systems (SAGE Intacct preferred), allows you to efficiently manage and analyze complex financial data.
- Collaborative problem-solver: You thrive in cross-functional teams, gathering relevant data and insights to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions while promoting equity, inclusivity, and accessibility for everyone.
- Exceptional communicator and multitasker: With outstanding written and verbal communication skills, you confidently present financial insights to diverse audiences and manage multiple tasks and projects with professionalism, accuracy, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Collaborate with senior management to implement the annual budget process, leveraging Sage Intacct system and Excel proficiency to effectively gather and report budget data.
- Prepare rolling forecasts, applying strong data analysis skills to extract actionable insights from financial data, enabling informed decision-making and performance evaluation.
- Generate and analyze monthly financial statement reports, including operational and business insights.
- Administer new system capabilities for project-level reporting which includes grants as well as many lines-of-business.
- Perform line-of-business and event contribution margin analysis, for both actual results as well as during planning efforts. These are important “financial planning and analysis” functions.
- Enable SAGE Intacct financial planning and analysis related to grant funding, assisting with meeting reporting and compliance requirements.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration by assessing management reporting needs and customizing financial system reports and dashboards to fulfill needs.
- Prepare and maintain financial reports as assigned, focusing on budgeting, budget compared to actual analysis, grant reports, and ad hoc analysis, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Serve as our SAGE systems administrator and promote efficient processes utilizing SAGE capabilities, including integration with other systems.
- Perform a limited number of general ledger reconciliations as assigned.
- Ability to speak a language in addition to English.
- Experience with SAGE Intacct accounting system preferred
- CPA/CMA preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
- Three (3) or more years of Accounting or Finance Dept experience as well as accounting systems experience.
- Strong background in budgeting, planning and ad hoc analysis.
- High proficiency in MS Excel, including advanced functions such as data importing and formula writing.
- High proficiency in data analytics and experience with SQL databases.
- Successful applicants must live and work in Washington State to perform this role.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
