ONGOING POSTING
SUMMARY
The position of Bartender will be responsible for providing event attendees with beverages, accompanied by attentive, gracious and friendly service. At all times, Bartenders are expected to provide guest with responsible alcohol service while delivering exceptional customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Work as a team with all Ute Pass Cultural Center (UPCC) personnel in order to maintain an effective atmosphere and efficient beverage service.
2. Work with others to keep all areas cleaned and stocked at all times.
3. Mix, garnish and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to guests following standard measuring practices.
4. Collect money from guests for drinks served and make change.
5. Setup bar prior to each event with beverages/glasses/napkins, garnishes/etc. Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display.
6. Ensures that customers are of legal drinking age by checking photo IDs.
7. Monitor number of drinks guests are served. Appropriately suspend service to anyone who shows visible signs of intoxication.
8. Break down bar after each event: putting away beverages/glasses/napkins/garnishes/etc. wiping down bar/ counters.
9. Work independently.
10. Occasionally assist with event set up and clean up.
11. Other duties as assigned.

Works under the general supervision of the Event Center Manager and Parks and Recreation Director.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
1. Must be 21 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.
2. Current TIPS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
3. Minimum 1 year bartending experience.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. Working knowledge of beer, wine, liquor and common drink recipes.
2. Knowledge of cash handling procedures, prefer knowledge of any point of sales system.
3. Knowledge of customer relations techniques.
4. Knowledge of and ability to apply basic mathematic principles.
5. Ability to effectively foster relationships with the public and to handle stressful situations.
6. Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
7. Ability to issue clear concise verbal and/or written instructions to patrons and other employees and report operations both verbally and in written form.
8. Ability to multi-task.
9. Ability to concentrate on details.
10. Ability to analyze situations thoroughly, identify potential problems and find effective solutions.
11. Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public in answering questions and handling difficult complaints.
12. Ability to perform general clerical work involving the use of independent judgment and personal initiative.
13. Excellent communication skills.
14. The ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays is required.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Bottle opener, corkscrew, shaker, cutting board, kitchen utensils, POS system, calculator, and other bar essential items.
