Job Summary: The Assistant Custodian is responsible for assisting the Director of Plant Services in engineering, custodial, and minor maintenance at selected facilities as assigned by the Director of Plant Services.

- Works closely with the Director of Plant Services to ensure the mission, vision, and a set of measurable objectives are achieved for the Facilities and Maintenance Department.
- Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as unlocking and locking doors before and after operating hours of assigned facilities and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
- Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or vandalism to building operating and structural systems
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
- Maintains cleanliness of all facility rooms and entrance in accordance with efficient utilization of specific Facility.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3 years of progressively increasing experience custodial services.
- Strong communication skills in multiple settings and the ability to be an engaging change agent and culture-creator that can inspire and motivate.
- Collaborative management style, with a proven track record of working with diverse individuals at all levels to drive decision-making and results.
