Job Summary: Licensed Practical Nurses provide quality nursing care to residents; implement specific procedures and programs; coordinate work within the department, as well as with other departments; report pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; respond to inquiries or requests for information; assist the immediate supervisor with tasks to support department operations.
Performs other appropriate related and unrelated assigned duties.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; successful completion of a West Virginia state-approved Licensed Nursing program
Licensure/Certification: a current Nursing license in West Virginia; CPR and First- Aid certification preferred
Experience: Six months' prior nursing experience in long-term care preferred

- Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information
- Interact effectively with residents, guests, supervisors and peers
- Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress related to working with persons who are ill, disabled, elderly, and/or emotionally upset
- Is knowledgeable of resident rights and ensures an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment
- Follow safety regulations, reporting injuries or unsafe conditions and work practices to supervisor
- Follows up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers or residents regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns
- Follow acceptable standards of personal hygiene and comply with department dress code
- Possess a fundamental understanding of sanitation and cleanliness
- Regular, punctual and dependable attendance
- Provide assistance to and work directly with staff, residents, family of residents, visitors, government agencies and the general public
