Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant ( COTA ) - Part time or PRN
We are seeking a passionate COTA ( Occupational Therapy Assistant ) to join our growing team at our Woodlands or Arnold Skilled Nursing Facility.
As a COTA , you would be able to work independently, be dependable, compassionate and have a desire to help others. The Occupational Therapy Assistant ( COTA ) is responsible for administering individualized patient care and perform duties accordance with physician orders. As a COTA you are under the direction and supervision of the Therapy Director.
COTA Responsibilities
- Treat patients by using therapeutic and self-care activities designed to improve function
- Monitor a patient's activities to make sure they are performing them correctly and to offer encouragement
- Contribute to meetings and case conferences to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care plans for patients
- Document patient’s weekly progress in appropriate records
- Maintain the office treatment areas, equipment, and supply inventory
- Instruct patients, their families and any other caregivers in skills and techniques of the patient's treatment program
- Maintain valid certification from the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) and a valid Occupational Therapist state license (where applicable).
