EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be registered by one of the following:
- American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT) with additional registry in Sonography (S)
- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Required Licensure with the State of Indiana.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Minimum of two years’ experience performing sonography procedures in a hospital environment preferred.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Performs ultrasound procedures, in a timely fashion, while demonstrating the appropriate knowledge and skills necessary to work with patients from pediatric through geriatric.
- Prepares and operates equipment and positions patients correctly in order to provide the requested diagnostic images for interpretation.
- Completes exams in a timely manner and verifies all information is provided to the Radiologist.
- Acquires adequate knowledge of the patients’ medical history to understand and relate to their illnesses, being responsive to those concerns.
- Works independent of others and in a timely manner.
- Follows all HIPAA regulations.
- Maintains inventory of supplies and reorders as needed.
- Functions as a team member and assists other departments within Diagnostic Imaging when necessary.
- Communicated effectively to other team members to provide quality patient care.
