Spread across the course’s 438 acres are the 400 guest homes and unparalleled views of the scenic countryside and manicured green. The course also offers a driving range and teaching and practice facility. The semi-private course is open to members and guests of Woodloch, and limited outside tee-times are available.

The Clubhouse at Woodloch Springs is home to a pro shop, complete with a 9-18 hole course simulator and virtual driving range, as well as two upscale restaurants, The Grille Room and The Overlook, which feature sprawling views of the scenic course.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

This is a seasonal position that monitor pace of play on golf course, inform guest of rule violations, and enforce club rules to enhance the overall golf experience for all players.


ESSENTTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Monitor pace of play on golf course.
  • Enforce rules of the club for safety and etiquette.
  • Clean up any trash.
  • Check with the golf shop for any unusual or special instructions, such as cart paths only etc.
  • Must carry radio, first aid kit, tee sheet.
  • Report in every 30 minutes even if there is nothing to report.
  • Make course loop in reverse order (18 to 1). Your first contact with all players should be positive and friendly. If you think a group might be slow, contact the starter to find out their starting time.
  • Ability to utilize technology such as an iPad.
  • Periodically update the pro shop with on course events such as slow groups etc.
  • If a group is behind, check to see if they are holding up play. If they are not holding anyone up, leave them alone. If they are, ask them to do their best to speed up. Continue on to the next group and inform them that you have asked the group in front to speed up and to keep pace with them. Continue backwards in this manner.
  • During a double tee start, the ranger must be aware of the positions of the first and last group to tee off #1 and #10 for crossover purposes.
  • Keep the golf shop informed of any bad weather in the area. If the golf shop suspends play, proceed according to the lightning policy.
  • Turn in time sheet with radio to the golf shop at the end of the day.

There are no supervisory responsibilities involved with this job.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

There is no prior experience or training required to perform the essential functions of this job.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
