WoodmenLife is looking for a Claims Support Specialist to join our team! We are currently searching for a Claims Support Specialist to join our team. The Claims Support Specialist handles all the administrative duties for Life Claims that includes but not limited to: coding certificates on all new deaths and assigning claim numbers. Enters and retrieves information from the system, updates claim registers and distributes work to the section. Makes calls to Funeral Homes verifying pertinent information in order to process claims with face amounts that qualify as “quick” claims. Handles incoming e-mail messages from internal and external customers requesting information about claims. Processes paperwork from Claims Examiners.

We are looking for someone to:
Determines product type and assigns claim number in system for death claims, keeps claim registers updated, codes certificates on all new deaths, builds tracking (wipr) files and distributes work to the section.
Receives death notice through email or AWD. If no date of death is provided researches claims so that the computer system can be properly documented. Reviews deceased product portfolio to determine how many certificates are in force and evaluates other relationships the deceased may have to other certificates.
Makes calls to Funeral Homes verifying pertinent information in order to process claims with face amounts that qualify as “quick” claims. Receives incoming e-mail messages from internal and external customers requesting information about claims.
Continually reviews and analyzes the workflow to provide efficient service and meet service level goals. Makes recommendations for changes that enhance the process and improve customer service.
Adheres to Core Operation’s Behavioral Standards including focusing on solutions, being open to feedback and dialogue, taking initiative, and be involved and accountable.
Meets expectations for attendance and punctuality in accordance with the expectations established by your supervisor and WoodmenLife policy.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Ability to work overtime as assigned by management.
Essential Job Skills
High school diploma or equivalent education/experience.
Strong computer skills with typing 40 wpm with emphasis on accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to analyze, interpret, and clearly communicate information to others.
Possesses knowledge of Organization products.
Possesses in-depth knowledge of policies and procedures for area.
Ability to multi-task with high work volumes.
Self-motivated.
Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to work with a high level of concentration and attention to detail.
Ability to organize and prioritize work to effectively meet deadlines.
