We are currently searching for a Manager Data Management to join our team. The Manager Data Management is responsible for the planning, implementation, and control of activities that ensure the effective management of organizational data assets. This role emphasizes establishing robust practices for Data Architecture, Data Governance, and Data Quality, ensuring data is structured, governed, and fit for consumption to meet the diverse needs of data consumers. They will work as a liaison between the Information Technology department and the Business stakeholders within WoodmenLife. They will work to gain insights into how the organization is utilizing and handling data and data-driven workflows to ensure that they are done properly and optimally while reducing redundancy, improving quality, and helping to spread a data-driven culture. This individual will work to understand the data processes from a technical perspective as well as how and why they are performed from a business point of view. They will lead a team of data management professionals and work collaboratively with various departments to implement data standards, procedures, and best practices.

Essential Job Functions

• Develops and initiates a comprehensive data quality strategy that aligns with the organization's objectives, data governance policies, and compliance requirements.
• Maintain an enterprise data quality scorecard, establishing data quality metrics, benchmarks, and guidelines to monitor and assess data accuracy, completeness, and consistency on an ongoing basis.
• Suggest, plan and implement data quality improvement initiatives to address systemic data quality issues and enhance overall data reliability.
• Manages data catalog platform to ensure that organizational data assets are collected, inventoried, organized, classified appropriately based on policies, and described with metadata.
• Manages and directs data steward efforts to enrich metadata, document business rules, diagnose and fix data quality issues by employing advanced techniques and tools to identify and correct errors, duplicates, and inconsistencies.
• Work closely with the data governance team to define data quality standards, policies, and procedures. Ensure compliance with data governance guidelines and promote data quality awareness across the organization.
• Lead a Community of Practice for Data literacy that includes data quality training sessions and workshops for data stewards to promote a data-driven culture and empower them to manage data quality effectively.
• Maintain detailed documentation of data quality rules, procedures, and issue resolution processes for reference and future audits.
• Uses Organizational Communications Management (OCM) framework and methodologies to be an evangelist for increasing data quality and data literacy in the organization.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

This job requires a background that demonstrates the following minimum knowledge, skills, talents, and traits:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, data management, information systems or related field.
• Five years’ experience managing Data Management, Data Architecture or Data Quality initiatives and projects in a complex data environment.
• Solid understanding of data quality concepts, automation, data governance, and data management practices.
• Proficiency in data profiling and data analysis tools.
• Experience with data quality tools and technologies.
• Utilize data visualization software such as Power BI and Tableau to effectively communicate performance metrics and insights to individuals at all levels of management.
• Become the subject matter expert on the different processes and data within the organization and employ necessary tools to find quality issues within the data.
• Detail-oriented and analytical mindset, with the ability to identify data quality issues and propose effective solutions.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team of professionals capable of achieving aggressive business goals and objectives.
• Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills are a must as is the ability to embrace change in a positive and enthusiastic manner.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions and be able to manage multiple project deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Capable of balancing multiple projects with the ability to properly delegate and meet deadlines.
