What are the responsibilities and job description for the Internal Only-SPED Instructional Coach position at Woodridge School District 68?
- Collaborate with individual teachers and co-teacher teams through co-planning, co-teaching, modeling and coaching.
- Assist administrative and instructional staff in collecting, maintaining and interpreting data and designing approaches to improve student achievement and instruction.
- Assist the Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning and Director of Special Education to ensure that curriculum and instruction are aligned with District-approved standards.
- Promote teachers’ delivery and understanding of the District curriculum through collaborative long-range and short-range planning and teacher coaching.
- Provide instructional support to schools and teachers by continually enhancing his/her subject area knowledge through the use of professional development opportunities as identified by the Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning and Director of Special Education or as otherwise mutually agreed upon.
- Provide assistance to teachers to differentiate for students and match areas of need with appropriate instructional strategies and resources based upon District-approved standards.
- Assist in the leadership of the schools’ professional learning community for ongoing collaboration.
- Assist in designing and leading the professional development for the school and district.
- Perform such tasks and assume such responsibilities as may be assigned.
- Certification as set by the State Board of Education and School Code.
- Masters Degree in Education.
- Applicant must have had 5 years or more of successful teaching experience in the prior five years.
- Applicant must have an "Excellent" or "Proficient" overall rating in the applicant's last overall summative rating, or other rating as acceptable to the District for the position.
- Extensive knowledge of child development, along with reading, writing and technology skills.
- Strong oral, written, presentation and facilitation skills.
- Documented evidence of increasing student achievement beyond typical growth and attainment.
