SUMMARY
Responsible for instructing 1st - 8th grade students in a variety of Art mediums, providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth. This person is responsible for creating lesson plans and instructional resources for use in the classroom; as well as work with other staff members, demonstrating positive and professional interactions. Our program travels throughout Jefferson County (3 locations; Westminster, Lakewood, & Evergreen) during the week to provide fine arts enrichment to children who are homeschooled. Students' ages range from 5-13 years. We are seeking a fun, positive, reliable, creative teacher to join our team for Art classes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Plan, prepare and deliver instructional, project based, hands-on activities that correlate with class objectives and goals.
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students.
- Develop creative Art classes that promote a broad range of Art interests.
- Create and design highly engaging art projects using a variety of mediums.
- Create and share lesson plans with administration and modify accordingly throughout the year.
- Communicate with parents as needed.
- Willingness and ability to travel with necessary instructional materials on a weekly basis.
- Should be flexible and able to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- Create a positive educational climate for students to learn in.
- Collaborate with other staff and Instructional Coach to create curriculum that suits the HSC community.
- Attend (virtual and physical) and actively participate in all required staff meetings and professional development.
- Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by creating appropriate behavior strategies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE Experience with curriculum, staff development, and online learning. Experience with effective use of technology with teachers and/or students supporting educational technology initiatives. Previous experience or current thinking about culturally responsive teaching that relates to achievement issues for all students. Demonstrated success using technology to ensure technologically literate students.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Teacher license preferred, but not mandatory.
- Highly qualified credential will be required via college credits and having passed the Praxis
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT Must possess demonstrated skills in classroom and online implementation of best practices in instructional strategies, demonstrated success in working with learners, and experience with leading online learning. Demonstrated leadership skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of standard school technology, ability to effectively and efficiently use for a variety of purposes, and demonstrated success in using GSuite. Willingness to learn new technology. Ability to adjust to change. Must be flexible and have capacity for dealing with ambiguity. Must be able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Willingness to be a contributing member of the school.
