Woodruff Property Management Company is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Property Accountant to manage financial transactions, reporting, and compliance for our property portfolio. This role requires strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and experience in property management financials.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements accurately and on time
- Provide financial performance analysis across multiple properties
- Prepare reserve draws for multiple lenders
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Manage property-related invoices and ensure timely payments to vendors
- Track and record tenant deposits and security deposits
General Ledger & Reconciliation
- Maintain property-related general ledger accounts
- Perform bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy
Tax & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Assist with tax filings, property tax assessments, and audits
Software & System Maintenance
- Utilize property management software for financial tracking and reporting
- Maintain accurate financial records for audit and operational purposes
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
- 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in property accounting or real estate finance
- Proficiency in property management software (e.g., Entrata, Yardi, AppFolio, MRI) (preferred)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions and reporting
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds (e.g., office supplies, files)
- Frequent typing, data entry, and document handling
- Ability to communicate clearly in person, over the phone, and via email
