Job Description
">The Assistant/Associate Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations will play a critical role in securing financial support for WHOI's research, education, and outreach programs. This role will be responsible for managing a portfolio of foundation donors/prospects, developing fund-raising strategies, and working collaboratively with WHOI scientists and staff to achieve shared goals and objectives.
">Key Responsibilities
">- Manage a portfolio of foundation donors/prospects as the primary solicitor, helping to identify new foundation prospects and develop fund-raising strategies.
- Work collaboratively with WHOI scientists and staff across all departments and with senior and mid-level administrators to secure financial support for research, education, and outreach programs.
- Develop effective written fundraising material, articulating large-scale scientific endeavors to inspire potential corporate or foundation donors to the field of oceanography.
Requirements
">- Bachelor's degree and track record of success raising funds from foundations.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including demonstrated writing and editing skills in the preparation of proposals, reports, and correspondence.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to read and evaluate non-profit financial reporting statements.
