Salary: Starting at $15 / hour
Job Summary
The HR Assistant is responsible for all filing for active and terminated employees.
Responsibilities:
- Fully responsible for creating and maintaining files for Personnel. This includes, but not limited to, employment, Workers’ Compensation and Leave of Absence (LOA) files.
- File and move terminated Personnel, Workers’ Compensation, and LOA files.
- Assembles new Personnel files.
- Assist with survey/audits as it relates to Personnel files.
- File correspondence into folders while insuring accuracy.
- Ensures Form I-9s are filed correctly for active and terminated employees.
- Annually transfer previous year files and maintain workable file drawers in Human Resources file rooms. Ensures correct files are sent to the off-site storage and maintained.
- Maintain files for Pension and Term Vested employees. Ensures that files are in the correct place and filing is up to date.
- Responsible for keeping the data for the off-site files up to date and accurate.
- Provide back-up for the front desk for lunch breaks/breaks/vacation, as needed in the absence of the HR Receptionist.
- In the absence of the HR Secretary/Receptionist, responsible for issuing new and reprinting IDs for employees. Maintains the ID database.
- Uphold the confidentiality of all records (Medical and Personnel)
- Other duties as assigned or as became necessary.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in Human Resources or equivalent experience preferred.
- Computer literacy preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills; detail-oriented.
- Ability to deal with people in a pleasant manner in a very busy atmosphere.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, reach overhead, be able to kneel, squat, and stand for an extended period of time.
