Landscape and Irrigation Technician
The ideal candidate for this position would be to perform a new installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems. They will have the ability to install plants, sod, and ground cover to new and existing landscape projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate power equipment and hand tools to install, maintain and repair irrigation systems and related components, including irrigation lines, sprinkler heads, control panels, valves, pumps, etc.
- Install new and repair existing irrigation systems, including aiding in all aspects of landscape projects.
- Checks irrigation systems for proper operation and timing. May participate in the design or modification of new or existing systems.
- Performs seasonal maintenance such as system audits and adjustments.
- Maintains the inventory of related parts and supplies.
- May lead workers on irrigation projects and work on other ground related assignments as needed.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Understand and follow safety protocols as defined by operator's manuals and supervisors.
- Knowledge of tools, equipment, techniques, skills, materials, and irrigation system methods, design, installation, and maintenance.
- Ability to read plans, schematics, and drawings.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to operate equipment such as trenching machines and digging tools, and other related grounds/ landscaping equipment.
- Ability to read and write in English and possess good math skills.
- Ability to lead and direct the work of others.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently.
