Title: Substitute School Nurse
Reports to: Senior Director of Student Life and Community
Status: Per diem $30/hr
Start Date: Ongoing
Summary
Woodstock Day School is seeking substitute school nurses to oversee the health of our students by providing basic health services throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first aid and immediate care to sick and injured students and staff; document all care given in computer database
- Communicate appropriately with caregivers regarding sick and injured students
- Develop care plans for students with ongoing conditions
- Consult with teachers, school administrators and other school staff regarding student care
- Administer medication
- Monitor NYS required documentation including student immunization records, physicals, etc.
- Perform hearing, vision and other health screenings
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in NY
- Knowledge of many areas of health including mental health
- Knowledge of school laws and policies
- Ability to work independently or with others
- Ability to communicate well with others
- Ability to access situations and act quickly
- BLS/CPR certification
- Knowledge of state health regulations
- Ability to multitask
