Outside Sales

Primary Job Functions:

• Customer Service (help customers find what they need in a professional and courteous manner)
• Conducts sales, both inside the store and out in the field, via face-to-face interactions with both potential and existing customers
• Provide knowledge and hands-on explanations of any new or updated building products
• Build and maintain relationships with new and repeat customers
• Maintain records of all sales leads and customer accounts
• Educate customers on how products or services can benefit them financially and professionally
• Remain informed with industry competitors, current markets, and new products
• Source, plan, quote, and bid building packages for customers
• Special order placement, communication, and follow-up

Secondary Job Functions:

• Help load merchandise for customers
• Help check in freight
• Straightening and stocking bins, warehouses, and yard

Qualifications:

• H.S. Diploma or G.E.D. is preferred
• Vast knowledge of hardware and building materials
• Professional communication skills
• Good attitude, friendly
• Excellent math skills, with the ability to create and analyze quotes and reports
• Ability to multitask, must be able to manage both in-house and field work
• Professional telephone skills
• Ability to operate office machines, computers, and Excel is a plus
• Ability to identify and solve problems
• Ability to work flexible hours; including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to count change back
• Attention to detail, accuracy is key
