Estimated annual base pay: $ 78,000.00 (minimum)- $97,500.00 (midpoint) - $117,000.00 (maximum)
As a Senior or Lead Designer, you will be responsible for performing diverse and complex design assignments with a significant level of autonomy and minimal supervision. You will typically work in New Product Introduction (NPI) environments, with potential assignments in Internal Research and Development (IR&D) where innovative mechanization of design concepts leads to new products or tooling.
Your role involves working on complex designs, not only for Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) but also for complete systems that encompass all elements of the life cycle process, adhering to the Product Life Cycle (PLC) process. As an expert in your field, you will lead and mentor other designers, especially in large system design projects, setting the direction for design activities and ensuring high standards of creativity and technical excellence are maintained. Your expertise will be pivotal in transforming creative concepts into practical and efficient design solutions.

- Ability to understand and apply Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing or International equivalent at an expert level
- Must 3D model at an expert level, complex housings in 5 axes with several discreet functions
- Must be able to perform advanced level linear and radial stackup studies
- Advanced understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes and how to optimize designs based on competing inputs relating to each to achieve the best possible design for the enterprise
- Designs may be one on a more complex level - not only designing LRUs but also working on complete systems with all elements of the life cycle process in accordance with the PLC process
- Must be able to understand technical influences on the design(s), knowing the right questions to ask
- Ability to support critical customer design reviews
- An understanding of fundamental engineering principles (heat transfer, fluid mechanics, materials)
Lead
- Ability to understand and apply Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing or International equivalent at an expert level
- Must 3D model at an expert level, complex housings with several discreet functions, and systems for several LRUs into an envelope. Must drive for consistency from business unit to business unit
- Must be able to perform advanced level linear and radial stackup studies
- Advanced understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes and how to optimize designs based on competing inputs relating to each to achieve the best possible design for the enterprise
- Designs are done on a more complex level - not only designing LRUs but also working on complete systems with all elements of the life cycle process in accordance with the PLC process
- Must be able to have technical influences on the design(s), knowing the right questions to ask
- Ability to support critical customer design reviews
- An understanding of fundamental engineering principles (heat transfer, fluid mechanics, materials)
Senior
- US – Associate's Degree 2 year technical degree or certificate required
- 5 years At least 7 years of designer experience or combination of Bachelors degree or International equivalent and experience required
- US – Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Or International equivalent in a technical field required
- 5 years Related experience required
