Job Description
TITLE: Woodward Early Childhood Center Principal
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Appropriate certificate for building-level administration
REPORTS TO: 2. Superintendent
SUPERVISES: 3. All building certified teaching staff and paraprofessionals, teacher aides, classified staff, etc.
JOB GOAL: To use leadership, supervisory and administrative skills to promote the educational development of each student.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establishes and maintains an effective learning climate in the school.
- Works with staff to initiate, design and implement programs to meet specific needs of the students.
- Keeps the board informed of the school's activities, achievements and problems.
- Makes recommendations to the board concerning the school's staffing and instructional needs.
- Prepares and submits budget requests and monitors expenditures of funds.
- Prepares all reports, records, lists and all other paperwork appropriate to the school's operation and administration.
- Interprets and enforces all district policies and helps interpret them to the staff and the public.
- Assists in the development, revision and evaluation of the curriculum and of each student’s mastery of instructional outcomes.
- Maintains high standards of student conduct and enforces discipline as necessary and assures due process for students when appropriate.
- Serves as activities director for all school programs.
- Assists in the development and operation of inservice programs for certified teachers and (as appropriate) classified staff.
- Supervises and evaluates all professional, paraprofessional and classified staff working in the school and reports to the superintendent on their performance.
- Plans and supervises fire, tornado and other emergency drills.
- Responds to all written and oral requests for information from the board and the superintendent.
- Acts as liaison between the school and the community.
- Other duties, which may be assigned by the superintendent or board.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Administrative 10.5 Month contract. Salary to be established by the board
EVALUATION: The superintendent or his/her designee in accordance with current Oklahoma statutes and according to procedures established by the Board of Education shall evaluate the performance of this administrator.
