Route Sales and Delivery Driver

Main responsibilities

• To be able to drive a 5-ton box truck to deliver goods to customers along local routes.
• To be able to take orders from customers if necessary
• To be able to handle paperwork, including invoices
• Should enjoy working with people, have good customer-service skills, and be patient and courteous.
• Must be able work directly with people who buy and use the company’s goods and services.
• Actively sell more products to existing customers
• Find new customers to sell to.
• Take customer orders in an organize and consistent way in order to facilitate delivery during assigned delivery days without inconveniencing customers.
• Effectively communicate with management of specific customer product demand and customer complaints about prices and otherwise.
• To be able to recall accurately the relevant characteristics of products in inventory especially the popular items. e.g. color, weight, volume/capacity, wrapped/unwrapped.
• To be able to open email, print and photocopy documents.
• To be able to submit all customer orders to office by 5pm daily
• To be able to Collect payments from customers and issue receipts
• Complete and submit collections sheets to office and do lodgements for both cash and check when necessary
• Be responsible for driving safely and maintaining the vehicle they use under the instructions of management

Summary

The Route Sales and Delivery Driver is responsible for delivering products to customers on an assigned route while ensuring excellent customer service and maximizing sales opportunities. Increasing sales with existing customers and finding new customers are core responsibilities. This role also involves loading and unloading products, managing inventory on the delivery vehicle, maintaining accurate sales records, and building strong customer relationships. The ideal candidate will be organized, self-motivated, and capable of efficiently managing a delivery schedule while promoting the company's products to increase sales and meet targets.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a route sales and delivery driver with a strong focus on customer service is preferred
• Genuine interest in increasing sales for the company
• Ability to operate a box truck and handle heavy lifting
• Familiarity with route driving and logistics
• Experience with warehouse operations and equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in load and unload processes

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $31,200.00 - $41,600.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
