On average full-time groomers with WGB can expect to earn $65K-$100K per year including 40-P% commission and tips. We take care of the logistics with booking appointments, answering the phone calls and rescheduling.
Responsibilities:
- Provide grooming services for dogs (bathing, drying, brushing, trimming, shaving)
- Perform bathing, brushing, haircuts, and nail trims according to client preferences and breed standards
- Ensure the safety and comfort of pets during the grooming process
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area
- Communicate with pet owners to understand their specific grooming requests
- Monitor the health and well-being of pets during grooming and report any concerns to the owner or veterinarian
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client questions and concerns
Skills and Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years previous experience as a dog groomer
- Customer service: Strong communication skills to interact with pet owners in a professional and friendly manner
- Strong knowledge of different breeds and their specific grooming needs
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments safely during grooming procedures, including restraining and managing behavior
- Knowledge of animal behavior and ability to recognize signs of stress or discomfort in pets
- Ability to perform basic grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, haircuts, and nail trims
- Physical stamina to handle dogs of all sizes and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)
- Flexibility to work weekends as needed
Note: Prior experience as a professional pet groomer is required for this role. However, candidates with relevant animal care or retail experience may be qualified for other roles at this location.
