What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities and Maintenance Manager position at Wooldridge Creek Winery?
Wooldridge Creek Winery in the Applegate Valley, Oregon is seeking an experienced Facilities and Equipment Manager who succeeds in a team environment. The ideal candidate possesses sound time management skills, the ability to work independently, and mechanical and electrical aptitude for repair and maintenance of operating equipment. Prior experience with the wine production process is a major bonus but necessary. This is a full time, hourly position with an expectation of some overtime during harvest and other identified peak operational times. Compensation is dependent upon experience, $18-$22/hour.
Key Responsibilities
Working with the department managers, the Facility Manager is responsible for both troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of equipment and buildings that make up the winery, creamery and tasting room.
-Create and work from lists of maintenance needs provided by Managers and prioritize accordingly
-Ongoing upkeep and maintenance of facility systems, winemaking equipment and tasting room wares schedule maintenance and repairs as needed
-Create and/or utilize routine/preventative maintenance schedules of equipment, forklifts, and work vehicles, as well as maintenance and repair records and other regularly needed facility maintenance.
-Schedule and coordinate with contractors and service techs for outsourced maintenance of certain equipment (building HVAC units, larger winery equipment, etc.)
-Basic maintenance and upkeep of all winery and creamery buildings
-Monitor and maintain pars on select winery and tasting room supplies such as fire wood and propane for heaters
-Maintain cleanliness and organization of offsite wine storage warehouse
-Provide recommendations for facility improvements to general manager
-Participate in annual Harvest equipment maintenance and cleaning
-Assist winemaking team with bottling and harvest work
-Assist creamery staff in transportation and loading of milk cans
-Maintain an organized, clean, operational, and safe facility
Qualifications and Experience
-Mechanically and electrically skilled/inclined. Prior experience working with small electric and diesel motors. Experience with farm work and/or winery equipment a plus (pumps, hose repair, pressure washers)
-Excellent organizational and communication skills
-Ability to lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders, work on feet in hot and/or wet conditions, stand, sit, crouch for long periods of time
-Valid driver's license. Candidate's driving record will be subject to approval by winery's insurance provider prior to any job offers.
-Prior forklift experience preferred. CDL or other driving qualifications a plus
-Fluent ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Spanish a plus
