Woolpert is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Engineering Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, executing, and capturing results of tests in both laboratory and field conditions. This role requires the ability to position aircraft, manage scheduling, handle procurement tasks, and troubleshoot issues with engineering support.
An Engineering Technician is typically responsible for tasks such as shipping, receiving, inventory management, basic fabrication, and assembly work. These tasks will be performed under the guidance of a senior technician or engineer.
Responsibilities:Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and execute tests in laboratory and field environments, ensuring accurate and reliable data collection.
- Capture and document test results, maintaining detailed records for analysis and reporting.
- Position aircraft as required for testing and operational purposes.
- Coordinate and manage scheduling for testing and other related activities.
- Handle procurement of necessary equipment and materials for testing and operations.
- Troubleshoot technical issues in collaboration with engineering teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures during testing and operational activities.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field is preferred.
- Basic understanding of testing procedures and data collection methods.
- Ability to work in both laboratory and field conditions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with guidance from engineering support.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
- A team player who is confident, respectful, curious, flexible, and able to work with other professionals in a growing, successful, and respected business.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with aircraft positioning and handling.
- Familiarity with procurement processes and inventory management.
- Basic knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in a technical environment.
Working Conditions:
- This position may require working in various environments, including laboratories, field sites, and aircraft hangars.
- Some travel may be required for field testing and operational support.
Resulting Physical Qualifications:
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to operate and manipulate standard office equipment.
- Must be able to occasionally reach, bend, climb and/or balance.
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 10 to 50 pounds.
- Must have visual abilities of close vision, distance and color vision, peripheral vision, depth (stereo) vision and the ability to quickly adjust focus.
