Overview
Woolpert is seeking a Civil Site Project Engineer in the Infrastructure Sector. This position is primarily responsible for assisting our clients in managing design and stormwater related projects in Richland County, South Carolina. The Project Engineer will support local work and meet with project teams, general contractors, and inspectors regularly to ensure projects meet local municipality requirements. The position requires strong leadership in project design efforts, and coordination of multidisciplinary teams. Knowledge of NPDES MS4 and water quality experience is preferred. This position supports full-time in-person and flexible hybrid working arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating and managing projects on time and within budget in a highly collaborative environment.
- Conducting regular meetings with project teams and contractors to ensure work is on schedule, within budget and compliant with technical, safety and legal requirements.
- Being a strategic problem solver who can facilitate solutions between client, engineers, and contractors.
- Supporting team in scope and budget/pricing development for proposals and project planning
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the Site Design and Development / Construction field with an emphasis in project management, estimating, and/or scheduling
- Registered Professional Engineer is preferred but is not required
- Strong understanding of project management and construction, and ability to facilitate technical discussion when needed
- Demonstrate leadership skills and ability to negotiate, influence and manage risk
- Ability to make sound decisions/recommendations based on the evaluation and synthesis of project information and data
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with client personnel, contractors, and project team members.
- Ability to support local projects with daily field visits. Regular travel throughout the region is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Bluebeam Revu, and applicable project management software
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to walk construction sites for extended periods of time during all weather conditions.
- Must be able to operate and manipulate standard office equipment.
- Must be able to occasionally reach and bend.
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to perform field work periodically.
