DRUG / Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) TECHNICIAN
J ob Summary
The drug / BAT technician position is a PRN, employed position involving being on call and being
called to the Wooster Community Hospital Emergency Department (WCH ED), the Bloomington
Medical Services NowClinic, or to a local company to perform drug screens and / or breath
alcohol tests.
Reports To
This position reports to the assigned Practice Manager.
Essential Functions
Certify and when due, re-certify, to perform drug screens and breath alcohol tests.
Schedule to work on call shifts on a monthly basis, giving a two-week notice when expected to be unavailable (except in cases of emergency).
When called in, appear at the designated facility within 30 minutes to perform requested testing.
Complete / submit the required paperwork for testing.
When required, send specimen to the designated lab for initial or additional testing.
Record on call and call in hours, submitting them to the assigned Practice Manager at the end of the payroll period.
Notify the appropriate person of the need for additional testing supplies.
Communicate results to the appropriate person.
