MAIN FUNCTION :
Plans, organizes and directs medically approved OT programs for treatment of musclo-skeletal defects, neuromuscular diseases and problems to restore function, relieve pain and prevent disability, taking into consideration patient's age, mental status and educational level. Responsible for supervision of OTAs.
RESPONSIBLE TO : Manager, Home Health
MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor of Science Degree in OT from an accredited college or a university.
Licensed by the State of Ohio through the OT, PT and Athletic Trainers Board.
BLS prior to independent patient care.
Operates a mechanically sound vehicle, maintains Ohio Drivers License and proof of auto insurance.
No written disciplinary action within the last 12 months.
PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES :
1 year experience in acute care, rehab center, SNF or Home Health.
Good decision making skills and able to function independently.
Good communication and effective time management skills.
Registered as an OT by AOTA.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS :
Employee in this position may be :
- exposed to blood, body fluids and / or airborne pathogens and is required to wear barriers.
- exposed to inclement weather.
- Denotes ADA Essential
- Follows Appropriate Service Standards
POSITION EXPECTATIONS :
Actively participates in Home Health Department committees, staff meetings, and in-service programs as required.
Participates in at least one continuing education course each year.
Performs other tasks as requested.
